An incredible moment captured deep in the Needle Mountains in the Weminuche Wilderness taken above 13,000 ft during a four day backpack in the summer of 2022. After a long day of bushwhacking my friend and I were looking for a good location to camp in the valley below when we noticed incredible clouds on the horizon. So, instead of setting up camp, we decided to scramble up rocky terrain with full packs to see how high we could get. I felt like I was going to throw up at times given we climbed as fast as we could, rarely stopping to catch our breaths. I thought about my mom on this ascent, telling myself *“don’t quit”* just has she never quit when battling cancer… We jolted upward for about an hour when it started to rain. And then, all of a sudden, these two magnificent rainbows started to form so we threw down the packs and got out the camera gear as fast as we could. This amazing scene lasted only a minute or two. If we hadn't made the effort to get up here we may have never seen the rainbows from down in the valley. Following sunset, we found a suitable place to set up camp around 13k in the dark. We then woke up a few hours later, starting the climb of a nearby peak at 3 a.m. This was followed by three more adventure filled days.

We worked hard to get this image and seeing everything crystalize put a massive smile on my face. This image represents what I love about mountain photography: exploring hard to reach locations and capturing rare moments that few see. It brings me joy to then bring back these special moments to share with others.

Fine Art Wood Print (Ready to Hang)

This print option, a fine art paper print mounted on wood, is one of my most popular. The final product gives a clean, modern look and is exceptionally crisp with high detail and contrast. Wood prints are very durable and have little glare and reflection, which is a big plus. The artwork comes with a black beveled edge and has a 3D like feel as it floats off the wall. My highest end print product. Perfect for those looking to invest in museum quality fine art. This option features a fine art paper print face mounted on museum-grade acrylic. Acrylic prints bring out the most detail, depth and iridescence for an impressive modern presentation. They are exceptionally clear while being durable and scratch resistant with UV light protection. Like my other print options, acrylic prints come with a hidden hanging system, and float off the wall, revealing a 3D like presentation. Fine Art Paper Print (Loose Print for Framing)

Images are printed on smooth Hot Press fine art paper. The result is a perfect reproduction of detail and an array of vibrant colors. These are loose prints so you would need to mat and frame it (as opposed to the other options which arrive ready to hang). This gives you the benefit of working with your local frame shop to customize the print to your liking. Given these prints are not mounted, proper care is necessary to avoid any damage to the print.
